Why is pink today?
It is so important that victims of bullying know they are not alone and there is help and support available. Wearing a pink shirt on this day sends a strong message to them that others care. This day is dedicated to the cause against Bullying, Discrimination, Homophobia, Transphobia, and Transmisogyny around the world.
Why is pink anti bullying?
The idea comes from two incredible Nova Scotia high school students in 2007. When a fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, they decided to take a stand. ‘I learned that two people can come up with an idea, run with it, and it can do wonders,’ says Mr. Price, 17, who organized the pink protest.
Why is Pink Shirt Day important?
Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and online. Over the month of February, and throughout the year, CKNW Kids’ Fund’s Pink Shirt Day aims to raise awareness of these issues, as well as raise funds to support programs that foster children’s healthy self-esteem.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2020 was: United Against Bullying. Anti-Bullying Week took place on Monday 16th – Friday 20th November. Odd Socks Day marked the first day of Anti-Bullying Week. Last year 75% of schools in the country took part, reaching well over 7 million young people.
