A South Coast AQMD permit is a written authorization to build, install, alter, replace, or operate equipment that emits or controls the emission of air contaminants, like oxides of nitrogen (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), fine particulate matter (PM10), oxides of sulfur (SOx), or toxics.
How do I apply for AQMD?
To apply for a permit:
- Submit Form 400A, 400-CEQA, Form 400-PS and a supplemental Form 400-E-xx (for certain equipment type) for each equipment along with applicable fees (Fee Calculator).
- You may also apply for certain permits using our Online Application Filing System called OLAF.
